Greetings everyone. Thank you all for your many contributions and your service to the League, our country, and our Corps. We have accomplished many great things over the first half of the year and I look forward to what the second half will bring us.
I am glad to report to everyone that we have had seven new members join the Detachment since the beginning of the year. That is wonderful, please keep up the recruiting efforts we all know our community is rich with potential members and associate members.
Attached/Enclosed is also a tentative schedule of upcoming events that the Detachment plans on participating in, keep an eye on our website @ www.illowamarines.org so you can stay updated on everything the Detachment has going on. Please mark your calendars and continue to show your support to our League.
Remember our annual Detachment Picnic on Sunday 26 July 2015 is fast approaching. This year’s picnic will again be held at the same location as it has been for many years, The Illiniwek Forest Preserve in Hampton Illinois under the covered pavilion. For all the details and RSVP information see the enclosed/attached flyer. Please note that our Detachment Scholarship awards presentation will take place at the picnic. I am excited to report to everyone that we will be awarding eight very deserving recipients with cash awards this year.

Thanks to all of our members for being true Ambassadors as we work with all of our Marine friends in an effort to promote the Marine Corps League. I ask that all of our members please continue to stay active and support the many things that our Detachment is involved in and continue the legacy of our Corps and the pursuit of new members.
In closing I would like to say thank you to all of our members, associate members, spouses, family members, and friends of the League for all of your dedication and commitment in support of everything we do. Thanks Everyone!
